Springfield police investigating new social media posts

A woman was arrested and charged with attempted murder after posting online a video showing her attempting to stab her boyfriend in the back of the head, police said.

The incident happened at a home in the 5400 block of S. Creswell Avenue on Wednesday evening, according to police.

The woman said she stabbed her boyfriend, and he managed to fend off her attack, according a statement from Springfield Police.

The victim, who is not being identified, told police that the woman was at the house with a woman and two children when the woman walked into his room.

The victim said he confronted her and that she pulled a knife and pointed it at him.

The man said the woman then stabbed him in the side of the neck, causing him to fall to the floor, the statement said.

The woman, who was still armed with the knife, then fled the scene in a red Nissan SUV, police reported.

The suspect was described as a white woman, between the ages of 20 and 30.
